T-Mobile just had an invite-only (where's the invite for CGW?!?!) launch party featuring the new Sidekicks, which will be launched in late September.. Celebs like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Lenny Kravitz, Owen Wilson, Adam Brody and Elisha Cuthbert were invited to trade in their old Sidekicks for the new kicks. Just yesterday riding home on the Muni I saw a guy dressed totally hiphoppin' bling bling in Ecko, baggy clothes, diamond earring and all... typin' away on a Sidekick. Maybe the marketing IS working afterall.. I'd love to compare the uptake of Nextel's latest "Chirp Is Cheap" campaign, which is clearly targetted at this market.... and.. considering I can't remember what the hell the name of Nextel's consumer brand that the "Chirp is Cheap" campaign is called, it didn't do a very good job..
